KashmirCorps is an independent non-profit service corps which allows students and young professionals from the US and Canada to visit Srinagar, Kashmir and take on projects in one of the three service sectors.
What is the Summer Program?
In the Summer of 2007, KashmirCorps launched it first Summer Public Service
Program, placing a spirited group of individuals in projects across Srinagar,
Kashmir. Within the three sectors of Healthcare, Education, and Economic
Development, participants will have the opportunity to experience first
hand the humanitarian situation facing Kashmir. Participants will have
the chance to immerse themselves in the rich and vibrant Kashmiri culture,
while serving in quite possibly one of the most beautiful regions in the
world.
How/When do I apply?
As of right now we are in the process of developing our second Summer
Public Service Program, so we ask for your patience while we arrange our
resources in Kashmir. Applications should be up by early 2008, with details
regarding the program.
Who started KashmirCorps?
KashmirCorps was started by a dynamic group of Kashmiri-American students across the United States, who have a strong desire to see a prosperous and peaceful Kashmir. We maintain our core principles, that of peace, inclusiveness, and the genuine desire to enhance the welfare of the Kashmiri people.
